In black and red, this platter tutu piece is constructed as a classical tutu. Up top, the bodice uses non-stretch fabric. The palette pairs black with red. Nine layers of stiff tulle, carried on a built-in hooping, hold the skirt out flat. Two rows of hand-finished adjustable hooks close the back. Invisible drawcord along the top of the bust lets the dancer fine-tune the fit. Beneath, double layers of fine mesh cover the decorated briefs. Red floral applique marks the bodice front. Red beaded trim decorates the edges of the skirt. The skirt itself: a flat, stiff horizontal disc of multiple red and black tulle layers with red applique across the surface.
